Bananagans is up to some shenanigans on the streets of Knoxville. This food truck has locals simply going bananas, because of their simply sweet offering: the frozen chocolate covered banana. That’s it, but it’s so much more than that. Because Bananagans has taken that well beloved frozen treat and elevated it to a whole new level of delicious, making each a customizable experience to tantalize the tastebuds.
The Chicken Coop takes all of Knoxville under its wing, offering up Southern comfort the one way it knows how: fried chicken. But the South’s got a whole lot more to it than just fried chicken, and no food truck serves up “Southern with Sass” quite like the ‘coop.

In addition to working with our participating food trucks to make Volapalooza a zero-waste event like we usually do, Volapalooza is taking several more steps this year to make our event even more sustainable. We have partnered with UT Recycling to provide an on-site water refilling station and supply free refillable water bottles to our audience (while supply lasts). To cut down on waste, we are encouraging people to bring their own refillable water bottles, plan to use the bottles that we are handing out, or use the water fountain feature on the refilling station. Bottled water will not be available for purchase.
We are also partnering with Red Bull to encourage recycling in some really cool ways. We will be starting up our “Can for a Can” recycling initiative in collaboration with UT Recycling and Red Bull, which will be kicked off on Friday, April 20 and continue throughout the week at all ticketing locations during April 23-26. Students can recycle any aluminum can for a cold Red Bull in return and get entered to win an artist meet & greet. Any Red Bull cans that are recycled with us will be used by a local Knoxville artist, Preston Farabow, to make a sculpture on-site at Volapalooza this year. We’re excited to see what he creates!
